Protect Mode & avalanche safety

New features

The Protect checklist checks that Live Activities and background location are allowed, with an Open Settings link when they aren't.

Improvements

Protect Mode has a play/pause button instead of a switch, and the whole Protect row is tappable.
The position card tells "no avalanche service here" apart from "service not reporting today".
Arrival notifications: tapping one opens Protect Mode, clearer text, fewer missed ones; never sent while Protect Mode is on.

Fixes

Force-quitting the app ends Protect Mode and its Live Activity, so the Lock Screen never shows slope and danger for a place you've left.
Protect Mode can turn on again at Alps resorts: runs and lifts there count as available offline.

Changes

Background location is only used while Protect Mode is on.

3D shot & lenses

New features

Swipe the bottom card to change the lens; it follows your finger, shows lens dots and takes the lens colour.

Performance

Lenses switch instantly: no loading spinner after a swipe, and the neighbouring lenses are prepared in the background.
3D views only redraw while something changes, which saves battery.

Fixes

Where elevation data is missing, the terrain stays unknown instead of showing cliffs down to sea level.

Performance

Smoother 2D map panning, also on older iPhones.

Fixes

Fixed a map freeze when local map tiles are rebuilt.

Resorts & search

New features

Search finds resorts by town or village, nearest first, without unnamed or lift-less areas. Pull down in the menu to search.

Improvements

The resort you're standing in is pinned to the top of the drawer; "Show on map" frames the whole resort.

Fixes

Fixed: the resort page could freeze after scrolling.

Onboarding & offline

New features

New resort picker: the biggest resorts for your region, country chips with flags, states, Near me, and a review of your picks.
Satellite download quality: Saver, Standard or High (High is Pro), with one consistent size estimate everywhere.

Improvements

Downloads are kept permanently and queue up instead of vanishing when another one is running.

Fixes

Fixed two crashes in Manage Offline Data.

Offline Data page

Redesigned: Downloads and Cache are shown apart, each resort has its own card and can be deleted, with visible progress.
Clearing the temporary Roam terrain cache never removes downloaded resorts.

Protect Mode & avalanche safety

Better contrast on the Protect page.
The ALBINA avalanche layer is off by default for new users.
The last-run feature is paused: no "going uphill again" push and no last-run review.

3D shot & lenses

Sun exposure labels are translated into German.

Map

Tidier map controls: layers button level with the menu, smaller shoot button, compact card on the iPhone SE.
Roam mode: shooting no longer jumps when zoomed far out; tapping the compass turns the map north-up.
The shoot button keeps its loading state until the shot is on screen.
The app always uses light mode.

Resorts & search

The resort page's hourly strip also shows the peak temperature.
The resort page's 3D view stops drawing once it's scrolled away.

Onboarding & offline

The download step offers download and "stay online" as equal choices, and just says Next when everything is already offline.
The offline-areas layer outlines every downloaded area.

App Store "What's New" draft

Protect Mode is simpler: one play/pause button, a checklist that makes sure Live Activities and location are allowed, and location only in the background while Protect is on.

• Swipe the bottom card to change the 3D lens. Lenses now switch instantly.
• The position card tells you whether there's no avalanche service in an area or it just isn't reporting today.
• A new resort picker shows the biggest resorts in your region.
• Find resorts by town or village name.
• Downloads are kept permanently. Choose the satellite quality: Saver, Standard or High.

• Fixed a UI freeze on the map when local map tiles rebuild.
• Temporary terrain cache for Roam is kept apart from downloaded resorts, so clearing cache never removes your downloads.
• Protect card: My Position / Roam Center moved to the footer.
• Live Activity: clearer 'no rating' label.

Please test: download and delete a resort in Offline Data, and pan the map a lot to check it stays smooth.

• Offline-Daten neu gestaltet: Downloads und Cache sind getrennt, jedes Skigebiet hat eine eigene Karte, und du kannst Offline-Daten eines Skigebiets löschen. Beim Löschen siehst du den Fortschritt.
• Beim Öffnen von Offline-Daten zeigt eine Karte, dass der Speicher gezählt wird.
• Ein Hänger der Karte beim Neuaufbau lokaler Kartenkacheln ist behoben.
• Der temporäre Gelände-Cache für Roam ist von geladenen Skigebieten getrennt – Cache leeren löscht nie deine Downloads.
• Protect-Karte: Meine Position / Roam-Mitte sitzt jetzt in der Fußzeile.
• Live-Aktivität: klarere Anzeige 'keine Einstufung'.

Bitte testen: ein Skigebiet in Offline-Daten laden und löschen, und die Karte viel bewegen – bleibt sie flüssig?
