What favoriting a resort switches on

The heart on a resort page does more than bookmark it. Your favorites are the list First Chair watches for you — for snow, for storms, and for the days you ride without signal.

FavoritesOfflineNotifications

What favorites get

  1. Powder alerts

When fresh snow is forecast at your favorites, you get one collected notification — not one per resort. Set the snowfall threshold in Settings.

  2. Powder Radar on your Lock Screen

When a storm heads for one of your favorites, a Live Activity starts by itself: arrival countdown, snowfall per hour, then the fresh snow. With storms at several favorites, the biggest dump wins. Powder Radar covers a resort once 10 people favorite it; with Pro you can unlock one resort of your choice right away. A resort page tells you when it isn't covered yet.

  3. Offline maps and terrain layers

Only favorites can be downloaded: satellite and base map, elevation, runs and lifts, and the Steepness, Avalanche, Cliff, Contour and Hillshade layers. Remove a favorite and its offline data is deleted too, so nothing lingers on your iPhone.

  4. Widgets, Siri and Spotlight

The Favorite Resorts widget, Siri and Shortcuts, and Spotlight search all show your favorites with tomorrow's snow and avalanche danger.

  5. Your mountains, and "You're here"

The menu lists weather and snow for all favorites at a glance. When you stand inside one, it moves to the top, and Protect Mode picks it without asking.

How to favorite a resort

  1. Open the resort's page

Search for it in the menu or tap it on the map.

  2. Tap the heart, top-right

Filled and red means it's a favorite. Then tap Download on the same page to take it offline.

  3. Check the symbol in the menu

A green arrow on a favorite means it's downloaded and works without signal. A cloud means it still loads from the internet.

Free keeps 3 favorites. First Chair Pro has no limit.

Before you lose signal Download your favorites on Wi-Fi at home. A cloud symbol in the menu means that resort still needs the internet — see Taking a resort offline.
